How 걷다 conjugates
- Find the stem. Take 다 off 걷다 and you are left with 걷.
- Apply the ㄷ irregular pattern. The ㄷ becomes ㄹ before a vowel. That gives 걸어요.
- Build the rest on it. The past tense adds ㅆ to the same base, giving 걸었어요, and the table above has the future and the formal form.
Using 걷다
ㄷ-irregular like 듣다: 걷다 → 걸어요. Spelling 걸어요 with ㄹ is the tricky part.
공원에서 걸어요.
I walk in the park.
학교까지 걸어서 가요.
I walk to school.
