How 듣다 conjugates
- Find the stem. Take 다 off 듣다 and you are left with 듣.
- Apply the ㄷ irregular pattern. The ㄷ becomes ㄹ before a vowel. That gives 들어요.
- Build the rest on it. The past tense adds ㅆ to the same base, giving 들었어요, and the table above has the future and the formal form.
Using 듣다
A ㄷ-irregular verb: the ㄷ turns into ㄹ before a vowel, so 듣다 becomes 들어요. Spell it carefully.
