How 아끼다 conjugates
- Find the stem. Take 다 off 아끼다 and you are left with 아끼.
- Check the last vowel. It is ㅣ, and any vowel other than ㅏ or ㅗ takes 어요.
- Join them. The vowels merge as they meet: 아끼 + 어요 gives 아껴요.
- Build the rest on it. The past tense adds ㅆ to the same base, giving 아꼈어요, and the table above has the future and the formal form.
