The polite forms end in 요 and suit most conversations; the formal form is for announcements, presentations and first meetings. The same form works for I, you, she or they. As an adjective, 겸손하다 takes 겸손한 in front of a noun; the lesson on adjectives before nouns explains how that form is built.
How 겸손하다 conjugates
- Find the stem. Take 다 off 겸손하다 and you are left with 겸손하.
- Apply the 하다 pattern. 하 becomes 해 before an ending. That gives 겸손해요.
- Build the rest on it. The past tense adds ㅆ to the same base, giving 겸손했어요, and the table above has the future and the formal form.
