How 시작하다 conjugates
- Find the stem. Take 다 off 시작하다 and you are left with 시작하.
- Apply the 하다 pattern. 하 becomes 해 before an ending. That gives 시작해요.
- Build the rest on it. The past tense adds ㅆ to the same base, giving 시작했어요, and the table above has the future and the formal form.
Using 시작하다
시작 (a start) plus 하다, so literally to do a start. 시작해요! is how you say let's begin.
