| Polite present | 죽어요 | |
| Polite past | 죽었어요 | |

How 죽다 conjugates
- Find the stem. Take 다 off 죽다 and you are left with 죽.
- Check the last vowel. It is ㅜ, and any vowel other than ㅏ or ㅗ takes 어요.
- Join them. 죽 + 어요 gives 죽어요.
- Build the rest on it. The past tense adds ㅆ to the same base, giving 죽었어요, and the table above has the future and the formal form.
Using 죽다
Also used in slang for extremes: 배고파 죽겠어요 (I'm starving to death).
꽃이 죽었어요.
The flower died.
피곤해서 죽겠어요.
I'm dead tired.
