How 끝나다 conjugates
- Find the stem. Take 다 off 끝나다 and you are left with 끝나.
- Check the last vowel. It is ㅏ, and a stem ending in ㅏ or ㅗ takes 아요.
- Join them. The vowels merge as they meet: 끝나 + 아요 gives 끝나요.
- Build the rest on it. The past tense adds ㅆ to the same base, giving 끝났어요, and the table above has the future and the formal form.
Using 끝나다
Starts with double ㄲ and hides a ㅌ batchim: 끝. 일이 끝났어요 = work is over.
